The Griffith Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Hammond Morton by a score of 75-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Savon Miles, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Gianni Feaster was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Griffith is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Hammond Morton, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Griffith will square off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Griffith is facing Highland at the right time seeing as Highland is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hammond Morton, they will head out on the road to face off against Calumet New Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Calumet New Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
