Maury is a perfect 10-0 against Norview since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Commodores will host the Pilots at 4:00 p.m. Maury's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Norview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Maury is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Ocean Lakes on Wednesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dolphins.
Maury got a good showing from Casey Deshazo, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Deshazo has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Walter Rieger made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Norview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Salem, falling 15-4.
Steven Goldston was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Malaki Littlejohn was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Maury's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Norview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Norview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Maury hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Norview, though, as they've only averaged .190. Will they be able to contain Maury's hitters?
Everything went Maury's way against Norview in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Maury made off with a 21-1 victory. Will the Commodores repeat their success, or do the Pilots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
