Basketball Recap: Ryan Babb's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mundy's Mill over Griffin

Mundy's Mill was the 75-41 winner over Griffin when they last played one another back in November of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Mundy's Mill Tigers fell to the Griffin Bears 58-52. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Babb, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 22 points along with five boards and three steals. Babb is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Johnson, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Mundy's Mill's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Griffin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Mundy's Mill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-36 victory against Harris County on the 9th. As for Griffin, they will venture away from home to take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Griffin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge.
