Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Carver Montgomery walked away with it. They secured a 67-61 W over the Panthers on Saturday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carver Montgomery to victory, but perhaps none more so than Conor McPherson, who scored 28 points along with five rebounds and four steals. McPherson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Zander Frazier was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Russell County didn't have too much trouble with McGill-Toolen at home on Saturday as they won 68-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Russell County.
Carver Montgomery has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-14 record this season. As for Russell County, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.
