The Hamilton Yankees will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Los Angeles CES Unicorns at 6:00 p.m. Hamilton is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Hamilton won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 71-48 walloping at the hands of Westchester. While losing is never fun, Hamilton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 673rd, while Westchester is ranked 250th).
Hamilton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Micah Jahn, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds, and Demaije May who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Vernell Thompson, who scored seven points.
Los Angeles CES suffered their closest loss since December 8, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Westchester by a score of 46-43.
Hamilton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Los Angeles CES, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
Hamilton beat Los Angeles CES 61-52 in their previous matchup on January 8th. Does Hamilton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Los Angeles CES turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
