Kerens is a perfect 4-0 against Trinidad since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bobcats will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 5:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kerens has eight straight wins, Trinidad has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Kerens is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Avalon a 19-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Rylee Spivey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Gonzales, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Eastman, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs.
Kerens always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Trinidad played against Frankston last Tuesday and lost via forfeit.
Kerens pushed their record up to 16-8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Trinidad, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything went Kerens' way against Trinidad when the teams last played back in April of 2018, as Kerens made off with an 18-7 victory. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
