If the Northwest Yeshiva Lions were riding high off their 57-33 takedown of the Rainier Christian Mustangs last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northwest Yeshiva took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bush on Thursday. Northwest Yeshiva was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bush apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Northwest Yeshiva lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joe Benoliel, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Northwest Yeshiva's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Bush, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Northwest Yeshiva will take on Pope John Paul II at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pope John Paul II has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for Bush, they will head out on the road to square off against Eastside Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
