Basketball Recap: Franklin Road Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Connor Branch and Ben Walker

Franklin Road Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 75-60 fall against the Franklin Christian Academy Falcons on Thursday. If the Minutemen were looking for revenge after losing 87-84 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ben Walker and Connor Branch certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Walker went 7 of 15 on his way to 22 points, while Branch posted 16 points along with seven steals and six assists. Walker's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Alcorn, who had five points and three steals.

Franklin Road Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Franklin Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Road Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Boyd Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. One thing working in Franklin Road Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Franklin Christian Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Zion Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
