Softball Recap: Metamora Now 11-2 over Last 13 Games

Metamora got themselves on the board against Canton on Thursday, but Canton never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Little Giants with a sharp 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Redbirds, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Metamora has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8.

Metamora and Canton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Redbirds will take on Pekin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (15 vs. 128). Meanwhile, Canton (ranked 88th) will meet Normal West (ranked 232nd) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
