The Havelock Rams will square off against the Croatan Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Havelock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Havelock's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Richlands as they made off with a 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Cooper Sheley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Havelock is 8-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Havelock got a massive performance out of Brayden Leverett, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Leverett has become a key player for the Rams: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Andrew Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Havelock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Croatan sidestepped Swansboro for a 3-2 win. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.
The team relied heavily on Jacob Woody, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Havelock's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Croatan, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Havelock's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Croatan, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Havelock continue to outrun the ball?
