Basketball Recap: Concordia Lutheran Piles Up the Points Against the Woodlands Christian Academy

After losing to The Woodlands Christian Academy the last time they met, Concordia Lutheran decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors 54-17. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Warriors are ranked 1266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Concordia Lutheran to victory were KAITLIN RICH and MEGAN INGRAHAM. RICH went 5 for 7 on her way to 13 points and five steals, while INGRAHAM posted eight points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave INGRAHAM a new career-high in assists (three). Kinley Coleman was another key player, putting up six points.

Concordia Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

Concordia Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.6 points per game. As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concordia Lutheran will challenge Calvary Baptist at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cypress Christian at 6:00 p.m.
