The Rocky Mount Gryphons will square off against the Northern Nash Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Rocky Mount escaped with a win against Bunn by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56. The Gryphons haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

It was another big night for Anthony Jones, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 27 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Semaj Parker, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds.
Rocky Mount smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 19 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Northern Nash entered their tilt with Franklinton on Tuesday with 12 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 13. They were the clear victor by a 66-41 margin over the Red Rams. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-17.
Northern Nash found their leader in sophomore Kamren Freeman, who made all 5 shots he took for 10 points along with eight boards and three steals. That's the most steals Freeman has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Barnes, who had ten points and six rebounds.
Northern Nash's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.1 points over those games. As for Rocky Mount, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Rocky Mount couldn't quite finish off Northern Nash in their previous matchup on Friday and fell 77-74. Can Rocky Mount avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
