Basketball Recap: Zion Christian Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Zion Christian won the last time they faced Potter's House Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Zion Christian Mountaineers snuck past the Potter's House Christian Pumas with a 44-39 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.

Potter's House Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Sicilia, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Ponstine, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Zion Christian has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Potter's House Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zion Christian will venture away from home to square off against Galesburg-Augusta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Galesburg-Augusta has won three straight at home, while Zion Christian won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Potter's House Christian, they will head out to take on Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
