Thayer Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Laken Wiedel out in front who rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 43 yards and one TD. Wiedel showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 53 yards. Another player making a difference was Blake Gunn, who gained 73 total yards and two touchdowns.

Thayer Central will have to contain Garrett Smidt as he made an impact in Tri County's last game. He rushed for 127 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. Smidt has become a key player for Tri County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Thayer Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 256.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tri County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 210 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Thayer Central against Tri County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 60-18 win. In that matchup, the Titans amassed a halftime lead of 44-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
