The Webster Bearcats were the 53-42 winner over the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Webster fell 40-28 to the Panthers on Tuesday. Webster has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Great Plains Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abby Kjenstad, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Bauer, who scored three points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Webster has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Great Plains Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webster will take on the Pheasants at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Redfield is ranked 92nd, while the Bearcats are ranked 108th). As for Great Plains Lutheran, they will be playing at home against the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilmot is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
