The Watersmeet Nimrods were the 47-43 winner over the Dollar Bay Bays when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Watersmeet suffered a rough 54-29 defeat at the hands of Dollar Bay on Tuesday. Watersmeet's loss keeps them winless this season.
Dollar Bay was led to victory by Evelyn Moilanen and Adelyn Swain. Moilanen dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Swain dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Swain has scored at least 25% of Dollar Bay's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Berryman, who scored five points.
Watersmeet's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Dollar Bay, their win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.
Watersmeet will take on Baraga at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Baraga presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Watersmeet in Michigan (Baraga is ranked 169th, while Watersmeet is ranked 677th). As for Dollar Bay, they will head out on the road to face off against Johnston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Johnston is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
