The Maimonides M-Cats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Cristo Rey 71-42 on the road. Maimonides might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 29 points or more this season.
Maimonides' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shaindle Kaplan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Kaplan continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eden Taieb, who scored 15 points.
Maimonides' win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Cristo Rey, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maimonides will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pioneer Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. After both having extra time off, Cristo Rey and Notre Dame Cristo Rey will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
