Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Twin Peaks Classical Academy

Twin Peaks Classical Academy won the last time they faced Liberty Tree Academy, and Kaleigh Van Pelt did her part to make sure it happened again. The Twin Peaks Classical Academy Timberwolves strolled past the Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-36 thanks in part to Van Pelt, who almost dropped a triple-double on 27 points, ten boards, and nine steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mikah Sickau, who posted six points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Despite the defeat, Liberty Tree Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Melody Pruitt almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Abigail Jeffers also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Twin Peaks Classical Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for Liberty Tree Academy, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-12 loss against Addenbrooke Classical Academy on the 27th. As for Liberty Tree Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-7 defeat against Scottsbluff on the 30th.
