The Forrest Rockets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over Community on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Forrest has posted yet this season.
Forrest was led to victory by Tristan Goad and Ben Villazon. Goad dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Villazon scored 18 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Bond, who scored six points along with two steals.
Forrest's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14. As for Community, their loss was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forrest's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Cascade at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Community will take on Cannon County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cannon County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
