The Winnebago Indians took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Homer 60-23 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Winnebago, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Winnebago's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Timothy LaPointe, who scored 18 points. Rahkim Free-Bass was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Winnebago's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Homer, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Winnebago will head out on the road to face off against Walthill on Friday. As for Homer, they will be playing at home against Lyons-Decatur Northeast at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
