The Westside Rams lost against the T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Westside took a serious blow against T.L. Hanna, falling 60-27. While losing is never fun, Westside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while T.L. Hanna is ranked 13th).
Kmajay Jenkins and Jakylan Brown certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Jenkins scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 3 steals, while Brown scored 4 points. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.
This is the second loss in a row for Westside and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for T.L. Hanna, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westside will take on Powdersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Powdersville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for T.L. Hanna, they will head out on the road to face off against Spartanburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Spartanburg will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
