The Catoctin Cougars will face off against the Boonsboro Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are still undefeated (Catoctin has nine wins , while Boonsboro has six).
Catoctin's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Brunswick 13-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Caitlynn Stambaugh was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.
In other batting news, Catoctin let Sophia Perez and Bralyn West run wild. Perez went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while West went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles West has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Charley Keilholtz, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Catoctin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brunswick only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Boonsboro's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They came out on top against Middletown by a score of 3-0. The three-run effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
The result came thanks to Addison Tyler's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, Boonsboro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Dillow, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Boonsboro's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Catoctin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Catoctin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .440. However, it's not like Boonsboro struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Catoctin beat Boonsboro 3-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
