The Thunderbird Titans came tearing into Thursday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Cactus with points to spare, taking the game 66-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Thunderbird also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Thunderbird's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Clark, who scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Clark has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Paris Strozier jr was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Cactus' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bradey Henige, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. Henige is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hutton, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Thunderbird pushed their record up to 21-5 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Cactus, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4.
Thunderbird does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cactus will head out on the road to square off against the Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Dysart's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 21 games.
