Baseball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pahokee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxbridge Academy). They never let the Pahokee Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the ThunderWolves also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Thomas Murry was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Carlo Vasquez was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was FJ Bahl, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5.

Oxbridge Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oxbridge Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Pahokee, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oxbridge Academy will challenge Master's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Master's Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Oxbridge Academy likes a good challenge. As for Pahokee, they will face off against Glades Central at 6:00 p.m. on March 20th. Glades Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
