Hoosier Hills recap Sept. 26, 2012
Columbus East extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Hills this week by beating Floyd Central, 31-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Bedford North Lawrence was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Stars defeated Jennings County 44-0.
Jeffersonville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyler Fridley threw for 211 and four touchdowns and Dalton Adkins had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Austin Hines chipped in 127 yards. Jacquari Chandler helped Jeffersonville's passing attack out by catching four balls for 74 yards.
Jeffersonville's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Fridley has thrown for 1722 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, while Ricky Embry has 31 catches for 603 yards. Hines leads the league in rushing with 681 yards.
A big matchup in Hoosier Hills this week will be when the Red Devils take on New Albany. As it stands, Jeffersonville is in second, while the Bulldogs are in third.
