The George Walton Academy Bulldogs came tearing into Saturday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 55-38 win over Kell. Given George Walton Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Kell is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ashley Hill was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Allie Marler, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
George Walton Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Kell, they have fallen quite a ways from their 26-5 record last season and are now at 3-8.
George Walton Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Prince Avenue Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kell, they will head out on the road to face off against North Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
