The West Lincoln Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 85-45 defeat at the hands of Newton-Conover. West Lincoln has struggled against Newton-Conover recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, West Lincoln still got an impressive performance from Mikalister Anderson, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Gideon Allen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
West Lincoln's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Newton-Conover, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lincoln will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against East Burke at 8:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully West Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Newton-Conover, they will head out on the road to take on Bunker Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton-Conover knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 contests -- so hopefully Bunker Hill likes a good challenge.
