Kent Denver extended the longest winning streak in 2A Colorado this week by beating Bennett, 35-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Ridgeview Academy took down Manual 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kent Denver's dynamic duo of Joey Matarazzo and Matt Pettyjohn proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Matarazzo threw for 127 yards and Pettyjohn had 126 yards receiving. Brian Boatman helped Kent Denver's passing attack out by catching two balls for 60 yards.
Brandon Martinez was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 172 yards on 24 carries as Denver West beat Bennett. Teammate Brandon Arnold added to the ground attack by rushing for 12 yards.
On the ground, the Sun Devils' Jaden Franklin has rushed for 1312 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Pettyjohn. The Kent Denver star has eight catches for 256 yards.
Rick Jacoby's team's Caleb Copeland is a mere 27 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 95 carries Copeland has accumulated 973 yard this year.
A big matchup in 2A Colorado this week will be when the Tigers take on the Rams. Bennett is currently in second, while Sheridan is in fifth.
The Rams led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on the Thunderbolts.
