The L'Anse Creuse Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the New Haven Rockets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. L'Anse Creuse is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
L'Anse Creuse barely beat Warren Woods-Tower the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 17-9 margin over the Titans on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Tiara Hyles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up seven earned runs off four hits. Hyles was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alyssa Strohl and Anne Matheson did most of the damage at the plate: Strohl got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Matheson went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Matheson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilly Kacir, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
L'Anse Creuse kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, New Haven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Marine City, falling 15-1.
New Haven saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerikah Bowman Class 2026, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
New Haven's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for L'Anse Creuse, their record is now 6-7.
New Haven's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. L'Anse Creuse has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for New Haven, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will L'Anse Creuse keep running through batters, or will the Rockets buck the trend?
L'Anse Creuse took their win against New Haven in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
