Bixby had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They pulled ahead with a 43-42 photo finish over the Owasso Rams on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bixby to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Kirby, who threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Cooper Parker, who rushed for 74 yards and three touchdowns.
Bixby didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Emory Snyder and Tyler Wright.
When it comes to explaining why Owasso lost, don't look at Jayden Hall. Despite the final result, he rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Hall is now averaging an impressive 106.4 rushing yards per game.
Bixby's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Owasso, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-1.
