Softball Recap: Tocoi Creek Finds Home Field Redemption Against Beachside

There's no place like home for Tocoi Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Beachside Barracudas on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Toros, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaycee Huff, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Santana, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Tocoi Creek hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beachside struck out 12 times.

Tocoi Creek's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Beachside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tocoi Creek will venture away from home to face off against Bradford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Toros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Beachside, they are taking a road trip to take on Bishop Kenny at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
