Baseball Recap: Arvada Has No Trouble Against Arrupe Jesuit

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Adams City, Arvada was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Arrupe Jesuit Generals as they made off with a 25-5 win. That looming 25-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Isaac Martinez was a standout: he scored three runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillan Najera-Ladezma, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Arvada always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .868. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Arvada pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada will challenge Mitchell at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Marauders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.6 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they will head out on the road to square off against Liberty Common at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
