The Bryant Hurricanes will head out on the road to face off against the Mobile Christian Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bryant has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
Bryant fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Moss Point on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 48-45. While losing is never fun, Bryant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 382nd in Alabama, while Moss Point is ranked 135th in Mississippi).
Meanwhile, Mobile Christian came up short against Murphy on Tuesday and fell 62-54.
Bryant's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Mobile Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season.
Bryant came out on top in a nail-biter against Mobile Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, sneaking past 74-72. Does Bryant have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mobile Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
