Hampton Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Bryce Harris, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 assists. Harris has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sean O'Connor, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Even though Denbigh Baptist Christian has not done well against Greenbrier Christian Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Denbigh Baptist Christian secured a 64-60 W over Greenbrier Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Denbigh Baptist Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tryston Mitchell, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Mitchell scored 15 or more points. William Showalter was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Hampton Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
Everything came up roses for Hampton Christian Academy against Denbigh Baptist Christian when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 76-43 win.
