The Bel Air Bobcats suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Joppatowne on the road and fell 78-51. Bel Air was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-21.
Joppatowne found their leader in underclassman Kishann Smith, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Smith is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Phil Clark, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Bel Air's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Joppatowne, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Bel Air will head out on the road to challenge North Harford at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Joppatowne, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against North East at 5:30 p.m.
