It was a good run, but the Middleton Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Humboldt by a score of 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Middleton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taquinis Mitchell. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamarcus Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Middleton's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6. As for Humboldt, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Middleton will be playing at home against Bradford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bradford is coming into the match with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Middleton will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Humboldt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
