Softball Recap: Southampton Academy Wins Going Away Against Tidewater Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Southampton Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Tidewater Academy Warriors as they made off with a 15-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Southampton Academy got a massive performance out of Kelsey Braun, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Braun a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Webb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Southampton Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Southampton Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tidewater Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Southampton Academy will challenge Kenston Forest at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kavaliers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. Tidewater Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
