Basketball Recap: Classical Academy Skates Past Escondido Adventist Academy with Ease

Classical Academy entered their tilt with Escondido Adventist Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Escondido Adventist Academy Hawks for the full four quarters, racking up an 80-25 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-18.

Classical Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan French out in front who went 6 for 15 on his way to 14 points along with six steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave French a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Chapman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

French wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Classical Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Classical Academy pushed their record up to 8-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Escondido Adventist Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Classical Academy will face off against Coastal Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Classical Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Escondido Adventist Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Guajome Park Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Escondido Adventist Academy is facing Guajome Park Academy at the right time seeing as Guajome Park Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
