There's no place like home for the Manor Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Granby with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 68-50. That's another feather in the cap for Manor, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Manor to victory were Tyceir Hughes and Sherwood Cross. Hughes dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Cross scored 26 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hughes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwan Merritt, who scored three points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Manor's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Granby, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manor will take on the Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maury presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in Virginia (the Commodores are ranked 13th, while the Mustangs are ranked 204th). As for Granby, they will be playing at home against the Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
