Volleyball Recap: Calvary Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Calvary's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the South County Vipers by a score of 2-1. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vipers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Calvary came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 12-25, 25-22.

Ainsley Johnson paced Calvary's offense, picking up 19 kills. Johnson got some help from Elesha Levine and her 17 assists. Finally, Johnson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Calvary's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 17-6. As for South County, the victory got them back to even at 16-16.

Calvary didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Nokomis on the 21st. As for South County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against New Berlin on the 21st.
