The Union Academy Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Charlotte Latin Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Union Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
Union Academy can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game. They breezed by Albemarle at home to the tune of 75-35. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.
Aidan Scruitsky was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Rangolan, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Charlotte Latin's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Providence Day. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Latin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Providence Day is ranked 25th).
Union Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Charlotte Latin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
