 Despite the  defeat, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Leah DeWitt  went 12 for 29  on her way to 33  points and eight  boards. The  match was  DeWitt's 20th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mckenzie Everett, who  posted 12 points and six  rebounds.
 Meanwhile, Cherokee had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Raiders as they made off with  a  61-39 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight  games by 22  points or more this season.
 Cherokee is also on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record  this season. As for Marietta, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
