It was a good run, but the Red River Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Winnfield by a score of 61-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), Red River still had to take the loss.
Winnfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Decavian Duncan led the charge by scoring 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig St Cyr, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Red River's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Winnfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red River will face off against Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lakeview's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games. As for Winnfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Many at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Many will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Winnfield is ranked 75th).
