It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the American Patriots can now relate to. They were dealt a 71-34 defeat at the hands of the Rockets on Monday. American has struggled against Central recently, as their game on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
American lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karissa Perrier, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Lajahnique Olive, who scored eight points.
Corianna Warner continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 steals. Warner is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. Damaria Gatlin was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
American has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.
American does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central is on the road again on Wednesday and plays Mourning on February 7th. Mourning will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Central surely won't give up without a fight.
