St. John has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Cross Trojans at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John's and Cross are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
Last Wednesday, St. John's was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-32 to Military Magnet Academy.
Meanwhile, Cross stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-40 win over Charleston Math & Science on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cross.
It was another big night for Jamez Way, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Way is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caden Ramsey, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Cross, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
St. John's ended up a good deal behind Cross when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 55-40. Can St. John's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
