Warren County is 2-8 against Lake Oconee Academy since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Warren County Screaming Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Oconee Academy Titans at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Warren County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Warren County beat Aquinas 51-44.
Warren County found their leader in underclassman Jailee Allen, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Allen hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Courtney Bray, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lake Oconee Academy posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 win over Washington-Wilkes. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Lake Oconee Academy has scored all year.
Warren County pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lake Oconee Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Warren County barely slipped by Lake Oconee Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 55-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warren County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
