Basketball Recap: Navajo Prep Skates Past Newcomb with Ease

Navajo Prep had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Newcomb Skyhawks, posting a 72-39 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Navajo Prep has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Newcomb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Navajo Prep will welcome Tohatchi at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tohatchi will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Navajo Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for Newcomb, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Stetson Perry and Savier Thomas.
