Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Blue Ridge

While Blue Ridge put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for ALA - Ironwood. Blue Ridge blew past ALA - Ironwood 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Hunter Krause made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Krause was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Blue Ridge let Karson Rosenthal and Noah Chee run wild. Rosenthal scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Chee scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Chee has become a key player for Blue Ridge: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Matthew Rooney, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win was the fifth in a row for Blue Ridge, bringing their record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for ALA - Ironwood, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Blue Ridge has already played their next contest, a 12-1 win against Winslow on the 22nd. As for ALA - Ironwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-13 victory against San Tan Foothills on the 25th.
