The Boyertown Bears lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by Methacton 80-44. While losing is never fun, Boyertown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Warriors are ranked 65th).
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Kern, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braedyn Johnson, who scored 15 points.
Boyertown has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Methacton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6.
Boyertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Methacton will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Emmaus will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
