Basketball Recap: Lincoln Wins Going Away Against St. John's/Tipton Catholic

Lincoln hadn't done well against St. John's/Tipton Catholic recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lincoln Leopards took down the St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays 54-37. This was payback for the Leopards, who suffered a 70-52 loss the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why St. John's/Tipton Catholic lost, don't look at Edward Horinek. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 20 on his way to 19 points and six steals. That was a full 51.4% of St. John's/Tipton Catholic's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Allen, who put up six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Lincoln and bumps their season record up to 4-0-1. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Lincoln and LaCrosse will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another on January 7, 2025. LaCrosse will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. John's/Tipton Catholic, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rock Hills at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
